Access to energy is vital for all New Zealand homes - access to a free and independent complaints service is also vital.

Gas consumers have a free and independent complaints resolution process through the Utilities Disputes. Utilities Disputes (previously The Electricity and Gas Complaints Commission) was approved as the consumer complaints resolution scheme for the electricity and gas complaints industries on 1 April 2010.

The dispute resolution scheme operated by the Utilities Disputes is important to consumers. It gives consumers confidence that there are options to address disputes, beyond raising them directly with the retailer or distributor.

To find out more on how to make a complaint, visit Utilities Disputes website or phone 0800 22 33 40.
