D+1 (Daily Allocation)

D+1 allocation is a process that allocates gas on the day following gas flow. Gas Industry Co is trialling D+1 allocation as a means of providing more timely information to retailers about their customers’ gas usage.  The information will also allow the calculation of shippers’ balance positions (that is, the net of their gas purchases, sales, and cashouts) on a daily basis.  If this process proves useful to the industry, then Gas Industry Co will look to implementing D+1 allocation formally as part of the Gas (Downstream Reconciliation) Rules 2008.

In this section you will find information on the trial of daily allocation arrangements including information discussed by the Daily Allocation Working Group and Industry participants at workshops and during the consultations necessary for the trial to go ahead.
