First Gas aims to introduce the GTAC project and its supporting IT system, TACOS (Transmission Access Commercial Operating System) in October 2021. Communications and updates on that work can be found on the First Gas website.
On 13 February 2018, Gas Industry Co released a paper containing its preliminary assessment of First Gas’s proposed Gas Transmission Access Code (GTAC) (Preliminary Assessment Paper (PAP)). On 8 December 2017 First Gas submitted its proposed GTAC to Gas Industry Co for analysis and comparative evaluation.
The Critical Contingency Operator (CCO) publishes notices during a critical contingency event on the the website - CCO Current events. Following a critical contingency event, the CCO is required to publish an Incident Report and a Performance Report. These reports are available CCO Publications.
The Switching Rules enable consumers to choose and alternate efficiently and satisfactorily between competing retailers. They provide for a centralised database, the Gas Registry, which stores essential technical parameters about every customer installation and facilitates and monitors each customer switch from initiation through to completion.
The purpose of the Gas Governance (Critical Contingency Management) Regulations 2008 (CCM Regulations) is to achieve the effective management of critical gas outages and other security of supply contingencies without compromising long-term security of supply.
Our work is designed to fulfil our statutory role through efficient governance arrangements, to progress new or ongoing projects that are important to the industry and other stakeholders, and to facilitate discussion through our role as a trusted advisor to industry and government.

Amending the Rules to incorporate D+1
D+1 has operated successfully as a set of pilot arrangements since 2015. Following a series of working group meetings and industry consultations, we are now proceeding with making amendments to the Rules to incorporate D+1.
Current regulations
On 21 January 2010, the CCM Regulations came into force. They were reviewed following an extended supply disruption on the Maui Pipeline in 2011. Gas Governance (Critical Contingency Management) Regulations 2008
On 1 March 2014, amendments strengthening and clarifying aspects of the regulatory arrangements took effect.
