We are working to understand what industry processes and frameworks are needed to support the introduction of ‘green gases,’ including hydrogen and biofuels.
In 2020 we engaged PwC to provide us with advice on international examples of renewable gas certification. Their work looked at considerations for the implementation of a New Zealand scheme and can be found below.
In 2023, as part of the Gas Transition Plan, we asked Wood Beca to assess the potential biogas supply and the feasibility and economics of the possible supply opportunities.
Also, in 2023, consultancy Castalia looked into the potential for hydrogen to replace natural gas. Both reports are linked below.
