Following the approval of the Recommendation to the Minister of Energy and Resources to amend the Switching and Reconciliation Rules, implementation of the Registry amendments began in mid-March, with a subsequent go-live in mid-September.

Gas Industry Co released its final assessment of First Gas’ proposed Gas Transmission Access Code (GTAC) on 27 February 2019. The assessment is made pursuant to MPOC s22. 16(b), and is one of the conditions that must be satisfied before the GTAC can take effect.

Stakeholders have requested that Gas Industry Co appoint an Independent Facilitator (IF) to help ensure that future GTAC workshops are run in a productive and efficient manner. We thank those parties that nominated candidates for the IF and provided comments on the draft Terms of Reference (ToR).
Eleven submissions were received on Gas Industry Co’s Preliminary Assessment of Gas Transmission Access Code (Preliminary Assessment Paper), and many submitters presented significant new material about the GTAC.
