The Ahuroa gas storage facility is owned by Flexgas, a subsidiary of Clarus. It was originally commissioned by Contact Energy in 2011, and sold to First Gas (now Clarus) in 2018.
In 2022 Contact Energy, who continue to store gas in the facility, posted an update regarding the accessibility of stored gas.
