The Gas (Processing Facilities Information Disclosure) Rules 2008, required gas processing facility owners to make disclosures to Gas Industry Co and expired in June 2014.

The objectives of the TArMAC are to develop a set of minimum standards that will allow for the consistent collection and treatment of advanced metering data; and to identify any registry changes or rules amendments needed to accommodate the uptake of advanced metering.

On 20 April 2016 Vector Gas Limited – owner of the Vector transmission system – was acquired by First State Funds, two infrastructure funds managed by First State Investments, known in Australia as Colonial First State Global Asset Management. Vector Gas Limited was renamed First Gas Limited (First Gas).
From time to time the Minister of Energy and Resources (the Minister) requests advice from Gas Industry Co on important issues in the gas industry.
What the Scheme does
The Scheme, introduced in 2010, is designed to achieve improved outcomes for small gas consumers using less than 10 terajoules of gas per year.
