After taking in account submissions received on its draft recommendation, Gas Industry Co has prepared a final recommendation on the MPOC 'typos' Change Request received from MDL on 21 May 2008.
On 23 April 2014, following a review of the Retail Gas Contracts Oversight Scheme, we wrote to the Minister advising on the continuation of the Scheme, with the following amendments:
retail gas contracts would no longer be reviewed on an annual basis, instead they would be reviewed on a 3-yearly basis…
At the 22 March 2010 meeting, the Board of Gas Industry Co agreed to submit a recommendation to the Associate Minister regarding retail contracts. The Recommendation sought endorsement for an industry-led arrangement of benchmark terms. The Recommendation was sent to the Minister on 29 March 2010.
In August 2008, a consultation paper was published inviting submissions on a range of current issues for domestic and small business gas consumers. Submissions were analysed and a response formulated that reached conclusions and set out the proposed next steps in key areas.
The Insolvent Retailers Working Group (IRWG) was established to assist Gas Industry Co in designing the drafting instructions for regulations that could be made urgently following the insolvency of a gas retailer.
The Gas Governance (Insolvent Retailers) Regulations 2010 (GGIR) were passed under urgency in November 2010.

Submissions were invited on the two transitional exemptions addressed in this paper under the Gas (Switching Arrangements) Rules 2008. A consultation paper on these applications can be viewed below.
This Statement of Proposal contains amendments to the Rules and associated changes to the Registry.
The existing rules for reconciliation and switching make no distinction between open-access and private networks. Gas Industry Co commissioned a paper by Dr Geoff Bertram to discuss how gas governance arrangements should be applied to private networks.
