This consultation considered whether Gas Industry Co should direct the Allocation Agent to perform a special allocation pursuant to rule 51 of the Gas (Downstream Reconciliation) Rules 2008, following a notification by the Allocation Agent that a material error occurred at 22 gas gates during August 2017.

This consultation paper invited submissions from allocation participants on the merits of directing special allocations under the Gas (Downstream Reconciliation) Rules 2008 for the consumption periods May 2012, June 2012 and July 2012.

The Gas (Processing Facilities Information Disclosure) Rules 2008 (the 'Rules') were gazetted by the Minister of Energy on 29 May 2008.
The purpose of the Gas Governance Issues in Gas Quality: Issues Paper was to review New Zealand's arrangements for managing gas quality, identify areas for more detailed evaluation, and suggest next steps.
