The original purpose of the Daily Allocation Working Group (DAWG) was to assist with the design, implementation and refinement of the D+1 trial and pilot. The scope included issues associated with the collection of daily data, development and improvement of the D+1 allocation model and associated processes and issues relating to the production of D+1 allocations.
The original DAWG comprised of representatives from the following industry stakeholders:

- Genesis Energy Limited
- Mercury Energy
- Nova/Todd Energy Limited
- Powerco
- Trustpower Limited
- Vector Limited
- First Gas Limited
