Gas Industry Co issued its Draft Recommendation on the 10 October 2014 Maui Pipeline Operating Code (market-based balancing) Change Request (MBBCR) proposed by Maui Development Limited (MDL) for consultation on 25 February 2015. The Draft Recommendation incorporated a summary of submissions and cross-submissions received to that point and an initial iteration of the Covec cost-benefit analysis—Market Based Balancing on the Maui Pipeline: Cost-Benefit Analysis (CBA)
The Draft Recommendation supported the MBBCR, including on the basis that Covec’s CBA concludes that the proposed changes will deliver net benefits to the market.
Submissions on the Draft Recommendation closed on Monday 30 March 2015 following workshops in Wellington and Auckland in early March. The workshop discussions gave Gas Industry Co and Covec a better appreciation of industry issues. The presentations by Gas Industry Co and Covec can be viewed in the related documents below.
